Precision Technologies is able to install thru-hole parts. We use a method of installation using the Hepco radial cutter, DIP former, APS axial, and radial lead former. Our wave soldering system features a ultrasonic spray fluxer that maintains a controlled no-clean needed wave soldering process.
We adhere to IPC-610 standards and guidelines and our staff is trained according to these standards as well as to customer-specific requirements. Complete data requirements for proper quotation of a PCB Assembly job:
Bill of Materials - In Microsoft Excel or delimited format. Please highlight in red any components we will not be placing, or any parts that are not included in the kit. BOM should include: Part number, Reference Designator, Description, and footprint (package).
Gerbers - Please send us all gerber files generated by your CAD program, as if you were sending them for fabrication. At a minimum we need silk screen, copper and solder paste layers for assembly.
Centrorid Data (aka Insertion or Pick-and-place or XY data) - This is the machine files, which should include: X, Y, Theta, Side of Board (Top or Bottom), and Reference Designator. If you cannot generate this file, Precision Tech can generate it for you from the geber files.
Assembly Drawings - Are not required for assembly, but they do help to ensure all special PCB Assembly instructions are carried out properly.
Kit Requirements for PCB Assembly:
Components - 5 extra minimum (or 5% whichever is more) for discrete parts. We can place parts on cut tape of any length so there is no need to buy reels. For ICs, QFPs and BGAs we ask for 1 extra per order.
PCBs - Please have a Silk Screen file that indicates polarity and 1st-pin markings.
